Jan James

Jan started pottery in 1978 training at Bunbury TAFE and also attended many workshops with experienced potters from Perth and the eastern states.

She attended a one-on-one workshop with John Gibson on the island of Bornholm in Denmark.

Jan established the much loved Port Pottery in Marlston Hill, Bunbury where she manufactured and sold her work for many years and has exhibited in various galleries in WA throughout her pottery career.

Today she works from her home studio hand building creative forms and specialises in making thrown and hand-built forms for pit firing. Jan offers students one on one lessons on the techniques of throwing on the wheel.
